Dosbarth Lluncaws is the Welsh stream class for pupils in reception to year 2. We have many learning areas in the class to support pupils in nurturing and reinforcing different skills and creating different learning opportunities for the pupils.
Dosbarth Lluncaws has been named after a local lake that lies in the hills above Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant village. According to the local folk story, it was created by a kind giant. He had been helping at a local farm, as the farmer was ill. As a thank you he was given a truckle of cheese which the giant accidently dropped. It rolled down the hill and created a huge hole at the bottom, filling with water eventually and creating a lake. The lake is a lovely round shape just like a truckle of cheese!
